Crocheted Scrap Yarn bag

Last nite, i was gg thru my yarn drawers and found these small granny squares that i have made.

I think i planned to make a blankie with them and then i ended up using most of my acrylic yarn for a charity project.

So while i was playing with them.. i decided to make more squares.

Then rearrange them and stitch them together..

Spent the nite n day crocheting away cos i am stressed.

Tahdah..... here is my anyhow crochet lunch bag.

So i do not need to lug my backpack when i pick lil Joy up. This is big enough for my purse, hp and tissue.

Now.. do i use it as it is or add a cloth lining? Nay.. too lazy to do that.

Girls date and angel gowns

We had an impromptu gals date becos daddy had to bring jr j back home due to diaper emergency. Instead heading home. We went to the library.

I woke up at 6 am and finish up sewing my gowns. Then spend the afternoon sewing the buttons n bow tie.

Finally they r ready for submission. My 1st batch of gowns.

Can u see wat is inside?

Cos my gal loves pao skin.. i tot she might like mantou. So tried making them for the first time instead of getting the frozen ones.

I love my bread machine when i got time. But actually this morning is quite irritating cos i am still undergoing the drilling torture after 1 mth. Haiz..

Tadah... n they r done.

Not the prettiest now awaiting them to cool n pass the taste test.

Definitely need to improve on the smooth surface.

Today.. i had a sneak peak of life to be. Lil joy had to go for her concert rehearsal in the afternoon instead of her usual morning class.

N afternoon is jr J's nap time. N i had 3 solid hrs of total peace. I worked twice as fast with 50% less stress. Even i cannot believe it myself.

Until i realise i almost forgot to pick lil joy up from school. Haha..

I am looking forward to the days when both r in school.

Oh... n we have bruce lim at home.. to guard our house. Dun play play.

shaving Foam prints

The plan for this evening was to drop the kids at my mom's and we go for a date.

But Jr J wasn't feeling well n we cancelled the plan. Little did i know that i will end up in A&E again. Haiz... hope everything will be fine and We r just being too careful.

New hairstyle

A friend of mine has to keep telling me tat i look better with my hair short. Maybe.. my brain is too fogged.. i didn't register it.

This week.. she told me twice and it happens that hub is on leave n my fren highlight that there is a ok salon near my hse. I took my bag n told my hub that i am gg to cut my hair short with an impromptu decision.

Otw.. i am still unsure what kind of hairstyle i shd go for. So i msg my fren n she told me to color it too.

Baking paints

I am glad i am at the era of online shopping..

I let lil Joy tried the bakable paint at the shop once.. it was torturing for me cos her 2 yr old bro was running ard while she craft. N he ended up with bleeding lips.

So i ordered the paints online.. there were like loads of designs but the paints looked like they are barely enough.. lil joy chose the big design and happily filled it up with loads of paint.

I chose a little gal.. the paints could be sufficient if one use them sparingly. But how do control a 4 yrs old.

I just prepare myself mentally to refill the paints when they are out. Anything tat can keep my kids seated without electronics is a good thing.

Freezer meal day 2.

I will say it is worth the effort on sat to gain the less stressful weekday mornings. Only i need to estimate my portions better.

I end up having to 'cook' twice.. once for lunch and oncr for dinner.

The terriyaki chicken is a keeper. Easy to prep n cook n it is delicious except too salty

This small portion is just nice for lunch.

If there is not many ppl eating. U can even steam ur rice together with it. But i steamed egg instead. Not recommended cos it will be very over cooked.

No cooking in the morning.. i made cookie dough.

Lil joy helped me with the cookie cutting. Actually it is not cookie but cheese crackers.

Sweet things r not well liked in my hse.

I actually burnt 1 lot. Haiz.. n it tasted bitter.

End of the Dr search

When i finally find the dr who speaks the same frequency near my place (after i have moved here for a year).

Ya.. prior to this. It was kkh or travel to eunos/ punggol to see my long time family dr.

Becos i dun like clinics who dun keep themselves updated. I dun like drs who whack medicine on my kids or drs who mis diagnose. Or drs who chase me out becos they dun have med for my young kids. Or drs who dun explain properly what is wrong.

I am glad to find a dr who is non of the above.

Angel Gowns making day

Sewed an angel gown today.. hopefully. Still have 6 more to go.. they r time consuming.. it takes me lots of time to prep them to sewing stage.. n i still have buttons to be sew on them.

Well.. the good news is.. the first piece with lining is done.. production line mode is now on...

Taking a break from the production line.. basically i just pin the vest n ribbons on and sew them. All the balance 5 pieces of them.

Then sew the top for the main fabric.

Same for the linings too.

Advantage of production line sewing. Saved me lots more thinking. Haha. Think once n just repeat the same action 5 times.

Break again ...

Sew the lining n main fabric together for the next step.

Then snip snip snip on the curved seams.

Sew the arm seams n the side seams.. n the bottom of the gown.. ya.. this is the most tideous part..

Mainly becos the lining of this wedding gown was not meant for such small project.. it frayed like mad even after i have serged it.

N u tot it is done???

Nope.. after turning over.. i still need to top stitch it.. add on buttons n bowtie..

N this is 1 out of the 5 gown for the 2 hrs i have spent on the sewing table.

I managed to rushed them out to the stage that they just need to be top stitched.
Before hubby rushed us out for dinner. The gowns r more time consuming than i had anticipated.. if u noticed.. i mentioned 6 more gowns there r only 5 here.

Becos the last gown will be a gal gown and i have yet to think about its design yet.
